Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Since 1993, VIS has provided software development, maintenance and support to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF). VIS is maintaining and enhancing the Patient Registry database that collects annual patient data from 190 treatment centers throughout the country. The Patient Registry database provides raw data for various researchers in the CFF medical community.
VIS developed a Grant Management system to assist CFF in tracking and managing a large number of multi-year research grants to individuals, hospitals and universities. VIS developed a Major Donors system to assist the CFF in maintaining relationships with current and potential large-scale donors. The Major Donors system also tracks all commitments and payments from each donor.
VIS developed a nationwide Chapter Cash Receipt system using Widows NT remote network technology. This system allows all CFF chapters to report income to the headquarters office immediately following each fund-raising event. This system also interfaces with the CFF accounting system to create a transaction journal for all reported income.
VIS developed a nationwide Gift Fulfillment Request system using Windows NT remote network technology. This system allows CFF chapters to enter gift requests for all participants of a fund-raising event. The gift request is automatically routed to an inventory coordinator who reviews each request and checks for available products. After a gift request has been approved by an inventory coordinator, the request is routed to the warehouse printer. Warehouse personnel package the request, prepare the shipping label, enter the shipping cost, and notify the inventory coordinator that shipment has been made. The Gift Fulfillment Request system also contains an inventory control module that assists CFF in maintaining and stocking its warehouse and in managing issues involved in product receiving and shipping.
